Policy GuidelinesHuntsman Hall classrooms, auditorium, Colloquium level rooms and Steinberg-Dietrich Hall 350, 351, 1203, 1201 nd 1206 are equipped with installed cameras and a video recording device. We also have additional analog cameras as well as digital cameras for recording in rooms with no installed recording equipment. If you need to have your event recorded you will need to submit a request using the online request form. Fees are involved for all non-class events. If you are having a non-class related event in a room that is not equipped with installed recording equipment, please contact us for more information. All recordings involving a camera operator require a minimum of 30 minutes prep time to ensure a higher quality recording. All recordings require a technology request regardless of whether they are self-started so the Digital Services group can process the files accordingly. You should submit an online request no later than two business days prior to the event in order to guarantee your request for a recording. Post-production information must be provided on the request in order to process any digital recordings. (Please see post-production for details). Please indicate the purpose of the video recording in the notes section (i.e.) Will the recording be of a guest speaker, a review session? How will the recording be used later? Should the main focus of the recording be on the speaker or on the presentation content? Recordings that are self-initiated via a valid Wharton logon can be performed via VHS tapes for analog recordings and/or digital recordings via accessing the “Quick Start” or “Record” features on the lectern. Recordings initiated via an operations technician may incur a fee for starting, stopping, and recording break changes and should be specified on the request via an ‘Op to Start’. Class recordings posted on Wharton Media Network (WMN) or webCafe are deleted at the end of the semester unless special arrangements have been made to keep them longer. If you did not include your duration requirements on the initial request, please contact your Academic Distributed Representative or contact us at class-tech@wharton.upenn.edu to make these arrangements. Requests for class recordings can only be accepted from faculty or their support staff. If you are a student in need of your class recorded, you must contact your professor or TA directly and have them submit a request for the recording. Faculty that will require recordings as part of a class assignment should contact us in advance to ensure that adequate equipment is available for your students. Faculty should instruct students to submit a request to us directly to make arrangements for their equipment. They can do this in JMHH F30. |
