Policy Guidelines

Lab Reservations

There are 4 labs available for reservation:

  • F75 - 60 flat-floor seats (see note)
  • F80 - 29 flat-floor seats (see note)
  • 375 - 78 tiered seats
  • 380 - 78 tiered seats

Note: the forum (F75/F85) level rooms have a wall divider that when open makes one 89 seat lab.

Reservation class size is restricted to one person per seat.

Lab Reservation Availability
Lab reservations are not made during the following blocked times.

  1. Peak Times during:
    • Midterms
    • The last week in July and the month of August
    • The last week in November to the last day of finals in December 
    • The fourth week in March to the last day of finals in May
  2. Off Peak Times during:
    • System maintenance and upgrades usually done over Fall Break, Winter Break or Spring Break
    • The week between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day (the university is closed for winter break)
  3. During the yearly hardware upgrade starting the day after graduation in May through the third week in July. During this time the labs and group study rooms will be closed on a rotating basis for upgrades. At least one lab and several group study rooms will be kept open for class use during the summer, but they may not be available for other uses.

Priority of Reservations

Student Lab Reservations are made based on the following priority:

  1. Wharton Credit Courses - reservations are first come first serve.
  2. Wharton Student usage - one lab per floor must be open for student use.
  3. Wharton Student pre-term training.
  4. Wharton staff in-house training (scheduled during student breaks).
  5. Wharton non-credit courses and programs - reservations are first come first serve during non-peak times when the labs are not blocked for maintenance and upgrades.

To reserve a Student lab you need to log into and complete our online lab reservation form If you do not have a Wharton login, then send an email to labs@wharton.upenn.edu with the name of your class/event, the dates and times needed and the number of attendees you are expecting.”

There are charges associated with Wharton non-credit courses and programs. Please see our rate sheet for details. There is no charge for Wharton credit courses, pre-term courses, and in-house staff training

Lab charges are done via the University’s twenty-six (26) digit budget code only.
